Nuclear Blast is a 5km obstacle loaded multi-lap course over mixed, muddy terrain suitable for all levels of fitness. Fun, exhilarating and achievable, it’s the night-time Blackout course but in daylight! Excellent introductory experience for first time obstacle racers.
SMALL : – Length : 90cm long from shoulder body change space 75cm wide. (Suitable from age 8-15 & small adults up to 5’3 approx).
ADULT : Length : 1.2m long from shoulder body change space 84cm wide, The Adult size suits 5’1″ upwards”. Dryrobe® The outdoor change robe. A weather-proof change robe. Get changed inside it!
If you take the original dryrobe concept, cross it with the old school Swim Parka combine that with the versatility of a zip front Poncho and then add all the functions & super warmth of the dryrobe Advance, you get the Dryrobe LS. (long sleeve).
MEDIUM : Length : 1.2m long from shoulder body change space 79cm wide and shorter arm length. The Medium size suits 5′ up to 6′ – Slim fit – ideal for the smaller woman or slim build.
LARGE : Length : 1.2m long from shoulder body change space 84cm wide, The Adult size suits 5’1″ up to 6’4″ – lots of room to change inside.
Obstacle Angels: A number of experienced obstacle racers will be on the courses ready to guide & advise #NukerNewbies or seasoned racers at trickier obstacles – where technique helps. Angels are marked in white hi-viz jackets.
We encourage you to bring your friends and family to come along and watch. They’ll need to sign in at registration before entering the event village.
Spectators are reminded that entering our private land is at their own risk. The entire event is Health & Safety checked prior to & throughout race day. Spectators must make their own decision as to whether they can reach or undertake the journey to spectating areas, which due to the nature of the sport, may be on uneven terrain.
There are excellent spectator obstacle viewing areas in & around the village (first 2k & last 2k). A course map in event village shows spectator accessible zones. Follow the black spectator signs to designated viewing areas. There’s no access to the full course due to safety concerns. Please tell your supporters to adhere to the No Entry signs & not to walk across fields of crops. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome, please clear up after them.
Official Nuclear Photographs
On the day of the Nuclear event, there are more than 8 official photographers situated around the course.
The photographers are at 8 different points around the course to get shots of individual runners. They also take photos of runners crossing the Finish Line, capturing the big moment for them to keep. After the Finish Line you can take your FINISHER photo and MEDAL shot, just look out for the bright Orange vests – and remember to smile!
